We invite you to join this short-term lagoon restoration volunteer experience, contributing directly to the recovery and protection of Pacuare’s ecosystems.
Short-Term Volunteers (2 days)
This opportunity is designed for volunteers who can stay two nights. We understand that many people balance work, family, and studies and can only commit for a short period, often a weekend. Many Costa Ricans fall into this category.
We invite you to join this short-term forest restoration volunteer experience, contributing directly to the recovery and protection of Pacuare’s ecosystems.
Activities Include:
Removal of invasive vegetation
Supporting natural regeneration processes
All activities involve physical effort, working outdoors rain or shine. Volunteers must be in good physical condition and willing to work in hot and humid tropical conditions.
Specific dates available in January–February, a key period for preparing forest areas and strengthening ecosystems that support wildlife, including turtles, birds, and other species.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years old or older, or be accompanied by an adult
Must be able to work during the day (activities are scheduled according to project needs)
Must be in good physical condition and able to:
Work in hot, humid conditions
Walk long distances on uneven or muddy terrain
Perform physically demanding tasks
Ability to complete 6 hours of volunteer work per day
Be a proactive, team-oriented person with a positive attitude
What We Offer:
Boat transportation on check-in and check-out days from the dock to the Reserve and back
Meals and lodging in shared rustic cabins with other volunteers
No electricity
No artificial lighting
Shared, non-private bathrooms
Orientation and supervision during all volunteer activities
Active integration into the Pacuare team to ensure your work creates a real and valuable impact on the conservation project
Contribution program
₡25,000 (VAT included) per person / shared room
Includes accommodation, meals, and boat transportation.
